Lake Mburo National covers an area of 370 km2 with a varied landscape with a gallery of acacia woodland, wetland, grassy valleys and savannah woodlands with lakes that support a wealth o an extraordinary variety of wildlife including 68 mammals species including the rare ones like Burchell’s zebras and elands, topis as well as other mammals like defassa waterbucks, warthogs, buffaloes, oribis, leopards and hyenas as well as hippos and crocodiles in L.Mburo. Lake Mburo National Park, is rich in birdlife with 315 recorded species of birds including the rare shoebill stork, papyrus yellow warbler, African finfoot, saddle billed stork, brown chested wattled plover, great snipe, carruther’s cisticola, Abyssinian ground hornbill, tabora cisticola among other species of birds that reign Mburo’s acacia woodland and forest ecosystems
